Stained Glass Snowflakes

Stained glass cookies are not only pretty, but also a great combination of crisp butter cookie and sweet candy glass. Dress up your Christmas tree or simply enjoy the cookies with your loved ones.

2/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup milk
30-40 hard candy
Put butter and sugar in a large bowl.
Cream butter and sugar together.
Stir in vanilla and eggs. In another bowl, mix together the sifted flour, baking powder and salt.

Add egg mixture and milk to the flour and make a dough.
Knead the dough until medium soft and non sticky. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough 1/8 inch thick.
Cut out snowflakes with a snowflake shaped cookie cutter and transfer to a baking sheet. Cut out a smaller shape out of each snowflake, to form the frames of the cookies.

Place crushed candy pieces inside the cookie frames.
Bake for 6-8 minutes in preheated to 180℃/375℉ oven, or until candy is just melted. Cool on baking sheet until candy is hard. Carefully remove cookies off the baking sheet with a spatula
