Hawaiian Burger

How it's made: 

Many people might think twice before combining ground beef and pineapple in a hamburger, but this fusion of flavors is truly delicious. Try it and you will love it!

To prepare the burger patties, in a large bowl, combine the beef, teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, black pepper, ginger and egg, and mix well. Shape the burger patties with wet hands, so that the meat doesn't stick to your hands. Arrange on a plate and refrigerate until the BBQ is ready. Make sure the patties do not stick together.

To prepare the rolls, follow the recipe for home-made burger rolls.

Slice the pineapple into 2-2,5 cm thick slices and coat them with olive oil. Once the BBQ and the burger rolls are ready, remove the burger patties from the refrigerator and coat them with olive oil. Throw the meat and the pineapple slices on the grill at medium temperature. Grill the pineapple slices for about 2 minutes on each side. Grill the meat 3-4 minutes on each side.

To assemble the burger, slice the roll, daub with honey mustard, top with green lettuce, a sizzling burger patty, a slice of Gouda cheese and a grilled pineapple slice. Serve with green salad and cold beer.

1 kg ground beef /or beef and pork mix/
2 tbsp. pineapple juice
2 tbsp. teriyaki sauce /or 4 tbsp. brown sugar and 2 tbsp. soy sauce/
1tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 egg
1 ripe pineapple
sliced Gouda cheese
green lettuce leaves
honey mustard
